HOW much?

Email from the university health services:

In June 2006, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) voted to recommend the first vaccine developed to prevent cervical cancer and other diseases in females caused by certain types of genital human papillomavirus (HPV). The vaccine, GardasilR, protects against four HPV types, which together cause 70% of cervical cancers and 90% of genital
warts.

This vaccine is currently approved for females between the ages of 9 and 26.

The HPV vaccine is available from Student Health Services for approximately $140 per dose (3 doses are required). If you have questions contact us at ...

Great! I've heard about the vaccine, it's an importa --- wait, how much? (Nuthin times nuthin, carry the nuthin...) $420? Yeah, right. Can we add that on to my student loans? Not.

Plus - "approved for females between the ages of 9 and 26"? So no one over 26 needs the vaccine? We must already have a natural immunity to HPV? Super! Who knew?
