what i'm thinking about instead of thinking about my 25-page paper:

1:01 p.m.
I think the legal system should start sentencing people to "transporation" again. Maybe the criminals could be sent to Canada or something.

10:27 p.m., Thursday
If my grade for a class can be based entirely on a 4-hour exam, then isn't 4 hours the appropriate amount of time to dedicate to a paper that determines my entire grade for the class? Hmm.

6:16 p.m., Friday
Cell phones cause brain cancer! Should I stop using my cell phone? Should I get a headset? Decision: I just don't care. Next headline.

People I Like, #1

It's time for another installment of "People I Don't Like." But I am afraid that I am becoming too negative and bitter, so I am going to start a new series, "People I Like", and take turns.

Who: Male Figure Skaters
Why: They wear lots of sequins, they cry on TV, and yet somehow, some of them are pretty hot.

I am watching ESPN right now, some sort of world championship or something. Wow, those are some awful outfits. But a sexy French accent seems to cancel out the sequins.

Xbox 360

Why can't I walk into a store and buy an Xbox 360? A Christmas shortage is one thing - there's nothing suprising about that - but it's 3 months later, and clerks in stores just laugh at me when I say "do you have any Xboxes?" It doesn't make any sense. The same stores are full of games and accessories, but no one is going to buy those things if they can't get an Xbox to use them on. So Microsoft isn't just losing sales on the Xboxes, it's losing sales on every Xbox-related item. It just doesn't make any sense to me.

Shopping!

I just bought a serger! I'm so excited! I've always wanted one, but they're pretty expensive and it was hard to justify the cost when I really don't sew that often. But today I was in the fabric store buying thread and they had a decent serger for half price! So I bought it! This week I have to finish making some curtains for a friend, but I don't think I want that to be my learn-how-to-use-the-serger project. So maybe I'll make some placemats or something. But first I have to finish my paper on the 5th Amendment. :-(
