Cutest Cat Ever

My cat has this round, flat, scratchy toy; it's about a foot and a half in diameter, and the outside has a track that a ball rolls around, and the inside has a round piece of cardboard for scratching on. The current cardboard is a mess, almost all scratched up, but I haven't had time to replace it. So tonight I sprinkled some catnip on it, and the cat had a fun time, scratching at the cardboard with the catnip. Then she went to sleep on it. She's all curled up, sound asleep, on the dirty, catnip-covered cardboard, with her nose tucked under her paw. It's pretty much the cutest thing ever. She doesn't care if it's comfortable or not; she's happy as a clam and can sleep soundly because she knows that no one else can get her catnip, and that's all that matters.

Law Library, part 2

I really want to eat my sandwitch. The problem is that it's really quiet in here, and I don't want the only sound that everyone hears to be the sound of me chewing. I'd go outside, but I don't feel like packing up my laptop to take outside with me. I should have bought one of those locks that attaches it to the table. Maybe I'll put it on my Amazon wish list.

Law Library

At some point since I started school, the law library changed its policies. Food and drink are now "discouraged", not "forbidden." I saw the policy in action this morning - the librarian at the front desk gave me a very discouraging look as I walked in with my cup of coffee. But I didn't care. If they want to take away my coffee, they'll have to pry it from my cold, dead, caffeine-addicted hands.

Harry Potter Review Part 2

The thing that annoys me about the end of the book is that I don't know what really happened. I know what appeared to happen; but will the next book reveal a plot twist where a certain someone is not dead after all, and someone else is not evil after all, etc.? That sort of thing does tend to happen in H.P books.

Harry Potter Review

Not as good as the last one. And I didn't like the end - it was way too much of a bummer.

Just Found a Great Blawg

Sometimes I wonder what it's like to be one of those super-smart, attractive people who get A's in every class and then grade-on to the law review and join the softball team and can drink a whole lot without getting a beer gut (like me) and then go work for the most prestigious law firms. Opinionista gives some hints. Luckily, most of my suspicions seem to be true - they are all living empty, meaningless lives, working 100 hours a week at legal jobs they hate, with only their overblown sense of superiority to comfort them. Except Opinionista - she seems like a pretty decent person. I'm going to imagine that she's the exception, and that all the other people that I'm secretly envious of are miserable and I wouldn't want to be them.

Caller ID continued

Turns out that all the calls I was getting were from MCI. They call every day. *Every* day. And then no one is there when I answer. Finally one time when I answered a person was actually there and he said "SaveALotOfMoneyOnYourLongDistanceBlahBlahBlahDoYouLikeToSaveMoney?" And I said "PutMeOnYourDoNotCallList!" And he did! And now no one calls me anymore.
